P90X WK4 REVIEW

So week 4 was a "recovery week" NOT!!! Well, they call it that, but it wasn't a week to not workout, or go get your hair done because you think you are not going to sweat. Nope, nope, nope. You sweat and burn just as many calories during this week. We did Yoga X (I still don't like it), you do Kenpo (still love it) and you do this crazy, weird, Tony on crack video called core synergistics. What the hell Tony? We were rolling around on the floor doing exercises called Superman, Boat, Bow, and all the sorts. The fact that the exercises had crazy names should further let you know how crazy this disc was.
You got a good combination of core and cardio in 50 something minutes.

Nothing really more to say about wk4. I did my weigh in this week, and well...you have to just watch the clip to see the results :-)

P90X Wk3 review

WK3 down...whew!!! So I finally got smart and ordered the Recovery Drink from Beachbody. That has really helped me out a lot. No lie you guys, I would get up at 0600, do P90X workout until about 0715, and then go back up stairs and nap until about 0745 before I would hop in the shower. I was so exhausted immediately after my workouts. I was good the rest of the day, but the mornings were hard because I was so beat down. Don't make the same mistake I did. If you do this program, do ahead and order the recovery drink now,

I finally bought some pullup bars also. I did the first 2 wks without them. I just modified the moves with my bands and an old weight bar that I had lying around the house. I was not going to let the lack of money or resources stop my journey. I am determined to get in the best shape of my life the best that I can.
My take away for this week is truly to do your best and forget the rest. Whether your best is using water bottles, encyclopedias laying around collecting dust, or a broom stick or cane, or no resistance at all. Keep pressing play. Eventually your body will crave the heavier weights and your pocketbook will happily oblige.
Oh yeah, and write everything down. You can't know where you are going until you know where you have been.
Now stop reading, and BRING IT.

P90X Wk2 review

So now I am at the end of wk 2 of P90X. I love KenpoX. It is my absolute favorite. I think it is a great stress reliever. Well, at least for an Army Soldier I suppose. It is a great mixture of TaeBo and Cardio. Lots of punching, kicking, and yelling (spirit yells). During the week I did the same exercises that I did during week 1, but I was making it through the exercises with just a tad bit more grace.Plyometrics... it had me on the ground panting and gasping for air after about 35 minutes. My partner in crime kept going and I had to just catch up near the end and then do the cool down.
Ab Ripper X..."I love it, but I hate it", it is 15 minutes of hell. By the time I climb my leg and then do mason twists, I want to collapse and take a nap. I can only do 10 mason twist with my feet in the air, even now I may be exaggerating. I think what makes it so hard is the fact that it is after doing the weight training routine, or I am just that out of shape. Who knows?
YogaX...an hour and a half of Kumbye-ya stretching is just over kill, especially since I am so incredibly tight. Oh well, at least it is only once a week.
KEEP Pressing PLAY... "you can do anything for 30 second"

P90X Wk1 review

This is the hardest week I think you will ever experience while doing P90X. If you can get through this week you will be ok.a little background...Before doing P90X, I only did remote control exercises for about a year. Last summer I did some working out at the gym 3 days a week and I saw great success in that, but due to my injury and later surgery, I gained all the weight back. I became immobile from Oct 2009 until March 2010. Needless to say, I did not look or feel much like an "ArmyDiva" I felt more like an ArmyStriker vehicle. Just all around big!!!! So I first had to DECIDE. P90X was my decision so now I have to get moving and PRESS PLAY.
10 minutes into "Chest and Back" I truly wanted to press PAUSE. No seriously, I was pissed!!!! "You mean to tell me that 13 years in the military and I am struggling to do 20 pushups?" "You have got to be freaking kidding me" Then I remembered the fat guy from the informercial who said in the beginning he could not do 20% of the exercises. I figured if his fat ass could get through it and push on, then certainly THE #1 ARMY DIVA could too. besides that I never really pressed pause because I couldn't reach the remote.
The rest of the week I continued to press play several more times. I struggled, grunted, pouted, and sweated my butt off. But by Sunday, I was glad that I had made this decision, and I was looking forward to pressing play again.
See how it all started on my first P90X video on youtube (Number1Armydiva Channel).
